  1. So my group was Ankita, Dahiana, Melissa, and myself has the prompt that "A woman's place is in the home."
Our thesis was: Both male and females have the ability to stay at home or go into the work force.
Our first concern was determining the definition of "in the home."
We described it as caring for children, cooking, cleaning, an running a business from home. Both genders have the potential to accomplish all those tasks, but societies traditional model is that a woman is more likely to be at home. Times have changed and women should be able to go into the work force if that is what they desire and men should be able to stay home with their children if finically possible if that is what they want.
Another point we made was that in today's economy it is not always feasible for ant person to stay at home, both genders have to work.
We also spoke about the history of women in the home and work force. Women in America mainly started to join the work force during World War I, when they had to take the jobs of their husbands while their husbands were at war. There were several iconic figures for women in the work place, such as Rosie the Riveter.
We view that being in the house is a choice, not an obligation, and either gender can do it.

Prompt: "We are all basically selfish"
Thesis: We are all basically selfish because everything we do always come back to ourselves and reflects our self interests and goals.

We brought up the notion: "If you don't worry about yourself, who will?" Everyone lives their lives for themselves that is why throughout the course of life different goals, moral, and interests are developed. It can be argued that some people possess heroic selfless traits such as firemen who risks their lives to put out fires and rescue people. By just looking at it, yes they are helping others despite the risk of death or injury, but such a life is what they want, helping the needy is one of their goals in life, therefore doing so is fulfilling their own goal, which is coming back to themselves. People's actions always have a motive in which reflects their interest, pursuing the interest is selfishness because it is doing it for oneself. A counter argument for that is what if person A is doing something for person B's interest? A follow up question is why would person A do that something for person B's interest? If doing something for person B is not of person A's interest, they would not do it which brings us back to selfishness. That type of selfishness isn't harmful to others for the most part but selfishness like not helping others are bad. People may say that individuals who hand themselves entirely over to God are not selfish at all. But the reason why they do so is to have the sins they have committed to be forgiven so that after death they can go to Heaven. Selfishness comes in many forms and sizes.

Revised thesis: Selfishness can be seen as good or bad but we are all basically selfish since everything we do always come back to ourselves and reflects our self interests and goals.

“Boys and girls should not have equal education”
We would touch on these few points:
No gender is superior to the other. We are all human.
No gender has a limit on their educational capacity.
In the past women were considered inferior to men. Times have changed; women have fought for their rights and have proven that they can do anything a man can do.
Education is the key that paves the path leading to a successful future. Education helps you move ahead in the world and helps you possess the critical thinking skills to navigate through life. Now, why should men deserve these benefits rather than women?
